WCVA Launches New Program to Benefit Stakeholders and Tourism Partners

The WCVA recently debuted its Westside Spotlight program with an inaugural event at Garden Vineyards in Helvetia. More than 50 stakeholders and industry partners attended, and were treated to wines from Garden Vineyards and catered appetizers from Claeys Catering. This event is one of three Westside Spotlight events currently planned for the year.

What is Westside Spotlight?

Westside Spotlight is a new incentive program, which invites stakeholders to partner with the WCVA to host an open house at their businesses/venues to create industry-wide promotional and networking events.

Westside Spotlight showcases Washington County’s diversity of unique attractions and venues, and is designed to familiarize partners in the area to increase the number of both leisure and business visitors to Washington County.

The goal is to feature one stakeholder per month, and to invite everyone on the WCVA’s industry mailing list as well as meeting/event planners and tour operators, when applicable.

The WCVA will provide:

• Publicity via the WCVA’s monthly industry e-newsletter (whenever timing allows)
• Electronic postcard invitations to the WCVA’s industry mailing list (incl. planners and tour operators when applicable)
• RSVP collection
• WCVA staff will serve as greeters and operate the registration table at each event
• WCVA will provide the host with a list of attendees after the event

The stakeholder host will provide:

• All onsite preparations/set-up
• Refreshments (suggested)
• Raffle/door prizes (suggested)
• Collateral for distribution to attendees
• Knowledgeable staff on-hand to provide information
• Site tours (where applicable)

We often hear that even locals don’t know about many of the tourism-related businesses in Washington County. Westside Spotlight is your chance to mix and mingle with those who have direct contact with our visitors and serve as the “influencers” to our area: front-line staff, sales and marketing professionals, meeting and event planners and other industry friends.
