Vision-Plan-Success
How Business Stakeholders Benefit
Our Vision
It is our goal to make Washington County a year-round destination of choice for those motivated by outstanding experiences whether as an avid sporting, nature or wine enthusiast, or as a visitor attracted by our events and excellent visitor facilities. As a result, we will have a healthy visitor economy that supports sustainable private, public and nonprofit organizations and provides economic, social, cultural and environmental benefits for all county residents.
Industry Involvement
In order to reach these goals, it is imperative for businesses that have a stake in the tourism industry to become vested in the product of Washington County. The amount of involvement is up to you.
Achieving the Plan
Product development partnerships will enable local organizations to collaborate by creating clusters of similar attractors and experiences around specific themes where they can share knowledge, co-operatively engage in promotions, generate funds, and adopt a collective approach toward product development opportunities. These clusters will make it easier to create more attractive and competitive products and to successfully enter new markets faster than would otherwise be possible.
Defining Success
Spending by visitors in the county grew from $184.1million in 1991 to $426.2 million in 2005. Together, we can utilize our resources and build partnerships to increase awareness of Washington County, increase the number of visitors to the area and increase visitor spending.
