Sports Sponsorship Opportunities for Stakeholders

January 8th, 2010 by WCVA

Sporting events are one of Washington County’s top generators of visitor revenue. In recent years, these have generated an estimated $1.2 million annually to our county.  Here are the four current sponsorship opportunities:

Girls Western National Softball Championship in Hillsboro, August 2010

More than 2,000 visitors will come to Hillsboro specifically for this Championship in early August. Marketing opportunities are numerous, including signage, banners, PA announcements and giveaways on the eight softball fields, trophy presentation stage, and more at The Gordon Faber Recreation Complex.

Championship organizers will work with stakeholders to tailor sponsorship packages within your budget range.

Coming May 2010, OSAA will be hosting two tournaments in Washington County:

• Girls’ Golf, May 17-18 at Quail Valley Golf Course in Banks
• Tennis, May 20-22, at Tualatin Hills Tennis Center in Beaverton

OSAA is offering a discount to WCVA stakeholders interested in promotional opportunities for either event, including:
on-site signage, information booths, public address announcements, website advertising and more.

The Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) Safeway Classic returns to Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club in August 2010

The tournament of the world’s best female golfers drew record crowds to North Plains in 2009, with 87,800 spectators attending the event, including approximately 8,700-13,100 visiting from outside the Greater Portland region. As a result, millions of dollars were infused into Washington County.

This is Washington County’s largest and most prestigious sporting event of the year.
Stakeholders can choose how to be involved:

  • Display your logo and/or message across the 14 foot x 6 foot screens on eight electronic leaderboards strategically positioned on the golf course. Details >>
  • Participate in a exhibit/vendor area dedicated to Washington County.  For more information contact Allison George, WCVA stakeholder development manager, at (503) 644-5555, ext. 111 or Allison@wcva.org.

For more information about the event’s advertising in general, contact Steve Wick with Tournament Golf Foundation at (503) 626-2711 x 16 or steve.wick@tgfigolf.com.
