New Bike Map Highlights Road and Off-Road Trails throughout Washington County
May 24th, 2011 by Sylke
The Washington County Visitors Association’s new, comprehensive Washington County bike map is helping cyclists chart their own courses along trails throughout the area. From well-traveled roads to firmly packed paths through the forest, the map provides information about a variety of terrain for cyclists of all abilities.
Published with input from local organizations, such as the Bicycle Transportation Coalition, the map outlines urban and rural bike routes (and road suitability). Color-coded trails alert cyclists which trails are most suitable, such as those that are closed to motor-vehicle traffic, or those that are less suitable, such as city streets with high traffic volume.
